Brian Halliagn and Dharmesh Shah invented “inbound marketing” in their 2009 book, “Inbound Marketing: Get Found Using Google, Social Media, and Blogs“. Ever since they founded HubSpot, they have been committed to providing many useful resources for anyone who wants to learn inbound marketing. HubSpot’s Inbound Marketing Certification is an excellent free program, open to the public.
The Inbound Marketing Certification is a great tool for beginners and seasoned professionals to master inbound marketing. Through a series of eleven content-packed videos, you will learn how to attract, convert, close, and delight more customers.
From testing calls-to-action to the frequency of writing blog posts, from basic Tips to Optimize Your Website to The Anatomy of Effective Landing Pages, this course provides you with the knowledge needed to effectively increase conversions and gain new leads—with no background knowledge needed!
How it works
HubSpot’s free Inbound Certification includes eleven classes that span the four stages of the Inbound Methodology. From optimizing your website, to landing page anatomy, to honing your inbound sales skills, this free certification covers the basics of what inbound is all about.
Block off a few hours to take this 11-course series. You’ll watch a series of videos about the whole methodology and at the end, take an exam. When you pass, you’ll receive a badge and certificate you can add to your website, resume, LinkedIn profile, etc.
More importantly, you’ll gain a solid understanding of inbound marketing, along with real-world examples and really helpful resources.

Take your classes
The Inbound Certification is made up of eleven classes that you can watch on demand and at your own pace. Each class is 35-45 minutes in length.
The content spans the entire Inbound Methodology from how to attract visitors with content and website optimization, to how to convert visitors into leads, close leads into customers and then delight those customers into promoters. Each class covers the high-level best practices and fundamentals of these individual components of the methodology.
In order to get the most out of this certification, we strongly recommend that you watch these eleven classes in order. Start with the “Essentials of an Effective Inbound Strategy” class and work your way down the list. Note that you can also download a copy of each classes’ slides and dive deeper with follow-up resources on each class page.
My recommendation is to download the slides that accompany each video section before you watch the videos. That way, you can use the slides as a reference guide as you go throughout the course. After watching each video section, review the slides briefly to cement the concepts covered in that section. Reviewing the slides is especially helpful if you’re not watching the section in one sitting.
